JORHAT: In a significant enforcement action, Jorhat Police conducted a raid at the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) office due to allegations of irregularities in the recruitment process. This operation followed the DTE’s failure to respond to multiple notices issued by the police regarding the matter.
Reports indicate that in 2021, three individuals were purportedly hired through unlawful means, breaching established recruitment protocols. The issue came to light when affected candidates lodged a formal complaint with Jorhat Police, leading to the filing of a case and the commencement of an investigation. Despite receiving three notices seeking clarification on the allegations, the Directorate did not provide any response. The current director, Dhruva Jyoti Bora, also failed to address inquiries, which compelled the police to escalate their actions by raiding the office.
The alleged recruitment irregularities reportedly occurred during the tenure of the former Director, Mousumi Baruah, in 2021. The purpose of the police raid is to gather evidence and further investigate the claims of illegal hiring practices at the DTE. Authorities are committed to ensuring transparency and accountability in the recruitment process as they work to resolve the complaints of the affected candidates and uphold the integrity of the hiring system. The investigation remains active, and further updates are anticipated as the police continue their inquiries.
