GUWAHATI: The Board of Secondary Education, Assam (SEBA), has officially released the results for the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) Examination 2025 today, fulfilling the anticipation of numerous students across the state. This year’s results showcased remarkable achievements, especially from students at Pragya Academy in Jorhat and Assam Jatiya Vidyalaya in Guwahati.
The top rank was secured by Amishii Saikia from Pragya Academy, who achieved an impressive total of 591 marks. Following closely, Saptarshi Bordoloi from Assam Jatiya Vidyalaya earned second place with 590 marks, while Anirban Borgohain from Pragya Academy claimed third with 589 marks. In terms of overall performance, male candidates outperformed their female counterparts, achieving a pass rate of 67.59% compared to 61.09% for females. Sivasagar district led the pass percentages at 85.55%, with Dibrugarh and Dhemaji following at 81.10% and 80.64%, respectively.
Out of 429,449 registered candidates, 422,737 participated in the examination, with 270,471 successfully passing. Among these, 89,041 students attained first division, 135,568 received second division, and 45,862 were in third division. Additionally, 5,336 students achieved distinction marks, 16,517 earned star marks, and 168,312 received letter marks across various subjects. The HSLC examinations took place from February 15 to March 3, 2025, with results announced just 37 days later.
Notably, 6,712 candidates were absent, 22 results were withheld, and 101 students faced expulsion for misconduct during the exams. For those dissatisfied with their results, SEBA has provided an option for re-evaluation and rechecking through its official portal, and the dates for the HSLC Compartment Exams 2025 will be announced shortly for students who did not pass one or two subjects. Students can conveniently access their individual results via SEBA’s official websites or through SMS services.
