Residents living on the outskirts of Komargaon, which falls under the Numaligarh Forest Subdivision, are facing significant distress due to the escalating problem posed by monkeys. Reports indicate that several individuals have sustained injuries from monkey bites, while local farmers are experiencing severe losses as their crops are being ravaged.
The persistent presence of these monkeys has rendered it nearly impossible for locals to cultivate vegetables and fruits in their fields. Furthermore, the troop’s increasingly aggressive behavior has disrupted the natural environment to such an extent that even birds are struggling to lay eggs in their nests. If this situation remains unaddressed, many families could face considerable economic hardships. Similar challenges are also being reported in the neighboring areas of Numaligarh, highlighting a broader regional issue.
