SRIBHUMI: In a major operation against drug trafficking, the Sribhumi police in Assam have successfully dismantled a significant drug syndicate operating in the Kandigram region, which is under the jurisdiction of the Badarpur Police Station. Acting on credible intelligence, law enforcement officials conducted a raid that led to the seizure of an unprecedented 150,000 YABA tablets and the apprehension of two individuals associated with the syndicate.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma commended the police’s efforts, publicly acknowledging their success on X through a post. He emphasized the scale of the operation, stating, “Crushing the drug syndicate. Sribhumi Police just wrecked a major drug ring in Kandigram area under Badarpur PS. 150,000 YABA tablets snatched. 2 people arrested.” This tweet underscores the government’s commitment to addressing the pervasive issue of drug trafficking in the state.
