Rani Mukerji is set to return to the big screen as the intrepid officer Shivani Shivaji Roy in “Mardaani 3.” The initial glimpse of the film was revealed recently.
On the occasion of Rani’s 47th birthday, Yash Raj Films, the production company behind the project, unveiled her character’s look and announced the film’s release date. On Monday, YRF shared the first image of Rani portraying the fearless cop in “Mardaani 3” via Instagram. In the poster, she is depicted wearing a black shirt, blue jeans, and black boots, aiming a gun directly at the camera.
Alongside the visual, the production team disclosed the film’s release date, stating, “The countdown begins for #Mardaani3! On Holi, good will confront evil as Shivani Shivaji Roy makes her return to theaters on February 27, 2026.” Rani, who reprises her role as the courageous officer dedicated to the pursuit of justice, has described the upcoming thriller as “dark, deadly, and brutal.” She has been a part of the franchise since its inception with the release of “Mardaani” in 2014.
