Assam: The tree library and scholarship program motivate students at Sukdal Sarubori ME School

Morigaon: In an effort to inspire students, Papul Das, the head teacher of Sukdal Sarubori ME School within the Bhurbandha Education Block, has launched the Head Teacher’s Special Scholarship Scheme. This scholarship is granted each year to students in Classes VI and VII who achieve the highest marks in their annual examinations.

For the academic year 2025-26, two students, Chitralekha Das and Nikhil Mithi, were honored with the special scholarship due to their exceptional academic performance. The scheme was officially introduced during a well-attended ceremony at the school, which included the presence of the Inspector of Schools for Morigaon, along with teachers, parents, and students.

Additionally, to promote reading habits among students beyond the standard curriculum, Head Teacher Papul Das has established a tree library on the school grounds. Bookshelves have been arranged around a tree within the school area, offering a variety of fairy tales, fables, poems, and storybooks.

This initiative serves all 92 students from Classes I to VIII, as well as the four teachers at the school. The tree library has fostered a lively reading environment, particularly during free time, and has become a source of motivation for both students and educators.
