GUWAHATI: On the morning of April 22, the Gauhati High Court was alerted to a potential bomb threat via email, leading to an immediate action by law enforcement. Authorities reported that the message originated from an unidentified group claiming to be the “Madras Tigers,” who threatened to detonate explosives within the court’s grounds.
In light of this threat, a police unit was promptly dispatched to the high court to carry out a comprehensive search. A senior police official remarked, “We have deployed a team to the high court following the receipt of the threat. Our specialists are currently examining every area of the building, and as of now, no explosives have been discovered. We suspect it may be a hoax.” The officer mentioned that additional information would be provided once the search is completed.
A high court official confirmed the receipt of the threatening email and indicated that police had brought specialized tools to assist in securing the building.
