Salman Khan is the latest Bollywood celebrity to respond to the recent terror attack in Pahalgam. On Wednesday, the renowned actor expressed his condemnation of the incident via his X account, lamenting the transformation of Kashmir, often referred to as paradise on earth, into a place of despair.
Khan extended his condolences to the victims’ families and criticized the terrorists for targeting innocent lives. In his post on X, he stated, ‘Kashmir, a paradise on this planet, is becoming a hell. Innocent individuals are being attacked, and my heart goes out to their families. The death of even one innocent person is akin to the destruction of humanity.’ Earlier that day, Shah Rukh Khan also voiced his sorrow and outrage regarding the tragic terror attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir. He remarked, ‘Words cannot adequately convey the sadness and anger at the betrayal and brutal violence that has unfolded in Pahalgam. In such times, we can only seek solace in prayer for the affected families and offer my heartfelt condolences.
May we, as a nation, remain united, resilient, and pursue justice for this atrocious act.’ On Tuesday, a terror group linked to Lashkar-e-Taiba opened fire on a group of tourists in Pahalgam, resulting in the deaths of at least 27 individuals. Eyewitnesses reported that two to three assailants, dressed in military uniforms, indiscriminately shot at tourists who were enjoying horseback riding in the renowned Baisaran Meadows. The Resistance Front (TRF), an alleged offshoot of Lashkar, claimed responsibility for the attack.
