According to various reports, Kriti Sanon is poised to join the cast of ‘Don 3’, featuring Ranveer Singh in the lead role. The actress has reportedly agreed to the project in principle and is expected to officially sign on soon. A report from Pinkvilla indicated that Sanon, who received a National Award for her performance in ‘Mimi’ in 2023, is enthusiastic about her role in ‘Don 3’ and will portray the female lead alongside Ranveer, who will take on the titular character.
A source quoted by the portal mentioned, ‘Farhan Akhtar and the creative team at Excel Entertainment were seeking an experienced actress with a strong screen presence for ‘Don 3′, and Kriti Sanon is an ideal fit. She possesses the charisma necessary to portray Roma on screen and is eager to finalize her contract shortly.’ The film was announced in 2023 when Ranveer Singh emotionally confirmed his commitment to continuing the legacy of Don, a role previously made iconic by Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan. Farhan Akhtar is also set to return as the film’s director after a decade-long hiatus. Initially, Kiara Advani was cast as the female lead, but she had to withdraw due to her pregnancy.
Although the film was announced in 2023, production has yet to commence. However, with Kriti’s involvement, it appears that the producers are preparing to move forward with the project soon. Reports suggest that Farhan has already completed a significant portion of location scouting and is gearing up to work with an international stunt team for the film’s action sequences. ‘Don 3′ is expected to be primarily filmed in Europe, with locations already secured. The script is finalized, and only minor adjustments and action design remain. Pre-production efforts will continue over the next few months, with the team aiming to begin filming by October or November 2025,’ the insider added.
