In the Bokial Forest Range Office area of Golaghat district, two individuals have tragically lost their lives within a span of 24 hours due to attacks by wild elephants. Devcharan Nuniya, a resident of Junction in Morongi mouza, was fatally attacked by a wild elephant last night while he was safeguarding his private tea garden located in front of his residence.
He succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The day prior, another individual from Gidibosti also fell victim to an elephant attack. These two fatalities in such a short timeframe have instilled fear among the local populace. Residents from various villages within Morongi mouza are now grappling with anxiety and insecurity, as the presence of wild elephants has turned nighttime into a source of dread, transforming their evenings into a living nightmare dominated by the threat of these animals.
