In Dibrugarh, the Bar Association expressed its opposition to the government’s unilateral decision to relocate the Gauhati High Court to North Guwahati by organizing a protest outside the Dibrugarh Court on Sunday. More than one hundred advocates from the Dibrugarh Bar Association participated in the two-hour demonstration. This protest was initiated in response to a call from the Gauhati High Court Bar Association, which condemned the government’s decision to transfer the High Court without engaging in discussions with the legal community. The protesting members of the Dibrugarh Bar Association claimed that the decision was made without consulting the lawyers associated with the Gauhati High Court and demanded the immediate retraction of this arbitrary action.
