Guwahati: In a notable development following the unexpected passing of renowned Assamese singer and composer Zubeen Garg, officials in Singapore have confirmed that a post-mortem examination is underway to determine the precise cause of his death.

This information was shared in a tweet from the official X account of Assam Chief Minister, Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma. As per official sources, the post-mortem is anticipated to be completed by 2 PM Singapore Time (SGT) on Saturday. Upon its conclusion, the remains of the legendary artist will be formally transferred to Indian authorities to initiate the repatriation process.

Garg, who was cherished as the “heartthrob of Assam” and a cultural figure throughout the Northeast, passed away in Singapore earlier this week, creating a significant void in India’s music and cultural scene.
