The CID is set to present the post-mortem reports of Zubeen Garg to journalists, artists, and close associates tomorrow

Guwahati: In a notable advancement towards ensuring transparency in the ongoing inquiry into the demise of singer and cultural figure Zubeen Garg, the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) is set to hold a meeting on Tuesday at 4:00 PM. During this meeting, the post-mortem reports of the late artist will be presented to selected representatives from the media, the arts community, and Zubeen’s close associates.

As per official sources, the CID has extended invitations to journalists, industry artists, and some of Zubeen’s close aides to its headquarters, where they will be shown both post-mortem reports pertinent to the case. It is important to note that two distinct post-mortems were conducted following Zubeen Garg’s passing. The first autopsy, which took place in Singapore, was a virtual (non-invasive) examination, while the second assessment occurred five days later at the Guwahati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) after the body was returned to Assam. Officials have confirmed that both reports were previously provided to Zubeen Garg’s family, who subsequently returned them to the police for incorporation into the ongoing investigation.

In addition to the autopsy reports, the viscera report prepared by the Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) in Delhi has also been obtained. This analysis was conducted to ascertain the presence of any foreign or toxic substances in the singer’s system. The CID is anticipated to present and elucidate the findings of these reports during Tuesday’s meeting to ensure clarity and address public concerns regarding the case.
