In Aligarh, Maulana Chaudhary Ibrahim Hussain, a prominent Muslim religious leader, commended the Indian armed forces on Monday for their successful execution of ‘Operation Sindoor’ and vehemently criticized Pakistan for utilizing religious institutions such as mosques and madrasas to train terrorists. He stated, ‘India has effectively dismantled Pakistan’s terrorist infrastructure, marking a significant achievement. No other nation has executed such precise strikes against terror camps within Pakistan, and our forces returned safely after their operations, which is an even greater feat.’ In response to Pakistan’s allegations that mosques and madrasas were targeted, the Maulana remarked, ‘They claim we attacked their mosques and madrasas, but what type of mosques and madrasas are these that harbor terrorism and destroy humanity? These establishments are intended for worship and the promotion of humanity, not for fostering terror.’ He denounced the exploitation of Islamic symbols for terrorist activities, asserting, ‘Which interpretation of Islam permits the propagation of terrorism in its name? Those who engage in such acts are not Muslims; they are terrorists and malevolent individuals seeking to corrupt society by misrepresenting Islam.’ Ibrahim Hussain emphasized that terrorism fundamentally contradicts the essential principles of Islam, stating, ‘They exploit the name of Islam to manipulate innocent individuals, emotionally mislead the general populace, and draw them into terrorism. However, Islam advocates for peace, not violence.’
He called for the complete eradication of terrorism, stating, “The actions of our military have instilled pride in every Indian. However, the only effective method to combat terrorism is to eliminate it entirely. If even a single terrorist persists, he will employ deception and mislead others under the guise of Islam. Therefore, it must be eradicated from its very roots.” The Maulana’s comments arise during a time of increasing support from various communities in India for the operation, which is perceived as a firm warning to terrorist organizations and their state backers.
