Actor Emraan Hashmi unveiled a striking and intense first poster for his forthcoming film “Ground Zero” on Thursday, showcasing him confidently wielding what appears to be an AK-47. Emraan shared this new poster on Instagram, where he is depicted as strong and resolute, with the title “Ground Zero” prominently displayed in a dramatic style.
He gazes over a city ravaged by conflict, with the backdrop illustrating a scene of devastation, featuring damaged buildings, raging fires, and billowing black smoke. In the caption, he wrote, “The untold story of a mission that changed Kashmir forever. #GroundZero in cinemas on 25th April, 2025. #AbPrahaarHoga.” The film is reportedly set in the aftermath of the 2001 Parliament attack, focusing on a BSF officer who leads a two-year investigation to uncover the mastermind Ghazi Baba, which facilitates India’s largest anti-terror operation. Produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar under the banner of Excel Entertainment, the film is directed by Tejas Deoskar and is scheduled for release in theaters on April 25, 2025.
On March 24, coinciding with his 46th birthday, Emraan announced the sequel to “Awarapan,” which is set to premiere on April 3, 2026. He captioned the announcement, “Just keep me alive a little longer… #Awarapan2 in cinemas, 3rd April 2026. #Awarapan2 @Visheshb7 @Visheshfilms #MukeshBhatt #VisheshFilms.” This sequel serves as a tribute to the fans who have cherished and celebrated “Awarapan,” as well as to the unwavering dedication of Shivam, the character Emraan portrayed in the original film. “Awarapan 2” promises to deliver an intense action drama, continuing Shivam’s journey and reintroducing the grit, emotions, unforgettable moments, and iconic music that contributed to “Awarapan” becoming a cult classic. The collaboration between Emraan Hashmi and Vishesh Films has produced successful films such as “Jannat,” “Murder,” “Raaz,” “Gangster,” “Hamari Adhuri Kahani,” and “Awarapan.” “Awarapan,” an action crime film, was released in 2007 and directed by Mohit Suri.
