NAGAON: In celebration of Independence Day, a multilingual kavi sammelan named ‘Operation Sindoor’ along with a patriotic song program was held, collectively referred to as an evening of patriotism. The multilingual kavi sammelan, titled Operation Sindoor, took place in the auditorium of Mahapurush Srimanta Sankardev University, graciously hosted by Antaraatma in partnership with Mahapurush Srimanta Sankardev University and Madhav Sanskriti Nyas. The event was inaugurated by Dr Durlav Chamua, the former MLA of Nagaon Sadar and a distinguished physician, who lit the lamp while reciting the Deep Mantra. Concurrently, the Borgeet and group performance by Suagmani Mahanta enthralled the audience.
Antaraatma’s President, Dr Dhananjay Kusre, delivered an eloquent presidential address emphasizing the nation’s responsibilities. Present on stage were Apurba Das, Principal of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Nil Kamal Bora, Provincial Secretary of Assam Kavi Sammelan, and Durgeswar Barkatki, President of Nagaon District of Sadou Assam Kavi Sammelan. During the event, Dr Nitai Pradhan, Principal of Good Shepherd Home, was honored with a certificate and a phulam gamocha from Antaraatma. Notably, District Commissioner Debasish Sharma, who was the chief guest, enriched the program by performing Dr Bhupen Hazarika’s classic song ‘Ah Ah Ulai Ah Hazag Janta,’ prompting the large audience to rise in appreciation of his performance.
District Commissioner Debasish Sharma also unveiled Surar Paanchoy, authored by Dr Karavi Koch, along with an Indian Literature Quiz and the Sanmihali book by Tunurani Gogoi Kalita. Under the adept stage management of Antaraatma’s Secretary Ajay Mahato and Joint Secretary Sanjeev Sagar Chaudhary, approximately 50 poets from both local and external regions showcased a fresh perspective on patriotism through their original poetry.
