Previously, Apoorva had chosen to archive all her posts on Instagram as a response to the overwhelming negativity and threats she faced in the comments section. Today, she took a bold step by sharing a post that highlights the hate, death threats, and rape threats she has endured over the past few weeks. The post includes a trigger warning, stating, “Trigger Warning: The post contains mentions of acid attacks, rape threats, and death threats,” and Apoorva poignantly captioned it, “and that’s not even 1%.” In the comments, many users have rallied around Apoorva, expressing their support and solidarity.
One commenter remarked, “You’ll see the same people in the candle march if, God forbid, anything happens to her. People call women Devi but don’t even treat us like humans. We are strong independent women, but at what cost? We need feminists; we very badly need them.” Another user added, “Very disheartening to see what you have gone through.”
