The procession was traveling from Kheroni in the West Karbi Anglong district to Bakalia when a vehicle, operated by a driver under the influence of alcohol, struck the band party. Kishore Kumar Chauhan, a 24-year-old resident of Cherapathar under the Kheroni Police Station in West Karbi Anglong district, unfortunately succumbed to his injuries. Additionally, seven other individuals sustained serious injuries and are currently receiving medical care. The Kaki Police have confirmed that the driver was intoxicated at the time of the accident, prompting the initiation of an investigation to further explore the details surrounding the incident.
