Assam: ABSU and BIFA engage in discussions to enhance their collaboration

The All-Bodo Students Union (ABSU) and representatives from the Bhutan India Friendship Association (BIFA) recently engaged in discussions aimed at enhancing mutual understanding and fostering relationships between India and Bhutan across the border. ABSU President Dipen Boro expressed his honor in welcoming BIFA Vice-President Goob Sonam Drukpa and General Secretary Taugay Chedup at the ABSU office in Udalguri district, as part of their scheduled visit from Sandrup Dzongkar, Bhutan. He noted that the meeting was productive in advancing the mutual understanding and relationship between the two neighboring entities. Boro highlighted that a ten-member delegation from BIFA, along with ABSU representatives, emphasized the significance of strengthening ties, promoting understanding, and ensuring harmonious coexistence, particularly given that the Bodoland region shares a 267 km international boundary with Assam, India. Boro remarked that the discussions were both meaningful and cohesive. He affirmed that the Bhutan-India relationship is poised to endure over time, grounded in respect and understanding from both parties, and he expressed his appreciation for their visit, which reflects the goodwill between the regions.
