Assam: AJYCP Protests Inadequate Facilities at Margherita FRU Hospital

AJYCP Margherita Regional Committee staged a protest in Margherita for more than two hours, demanding a permanent solution to the ongoing problems at the Margherita FRU Hospital.

MARGHERITA: Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuba Chatra Parishad (AJYCP) Margherita Regional Committee on Wednesday staged a protest in Margherita for more than two hours, demanding a permanent solution to the ongoing problems at the Margherita First Referral Unit (FRU) Hospital. The protesters warned that if their demands were not met, they would permanently block NH315 road and intensify their agitation.

More than 100 members of AJYCP Margherita Regional Committee protested from north Margherita Rangamancha to Segunbari Tiniali Margherita and demonstrated near the office of Margherita MLA Bhaskar Sharma, urging the Assam Government Health Department to take immediate action.

AJYCP leaders accused the present BJP-led Government of Assam of neglecting the hospital’s poor infrastructure, staff shortages, and lack of essential medical facilities. They demanded urgent reforms to improve healthcare services in the region.

Kanchan Bora, Vice-President of AJYCP Tinsukia District Committee, said that the Assam Government must act immediately and warned that they would continue their protest until the hospital problems were resolved.

Margherita FRU Hospital has been facing staff shortages and inadequate medical equipment, affecting healthcare services for local residents. The AJYCP Margherita Regional Committee’s protest has put pressure on the authorities to act quickly.
