DIBRUGARH: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma convened a review meeting at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat in Dibrugarh to evaluate the advancement of significant development projects in the Demow Constituency.
The meeting focused on several critical topics, including the construction of a new access road to medical colleges and cancer institutes, the enhancement of water bodies in Foklia Beel, the proposed embankment for floodwater management during the monsoon season, and the establishment of a new district jail. CM Sarma also reviewed ongoing infrastructure initiatives across various sectors, including Public Works Department (PWD) for roads and housing, water resources, urban affairs, energy, panchayati raj and rural development, health, public health, education, agriculture, industry, finance, and disaster management.
Furthermore, CM Sarma stressed the importance of prompt execution to optimize public benefits by evaluating the progress of medical colleges and hospitals in Sivasagar; the creation of workdays and project implementation under PMAY-G and MGNREGA; and the execution of PM-JAY, ABHA ID generation, and the Nijut Moina Scheme under the Health and Family Welfare Department.
Previously, on February 28, CM Sarma led a meeting with the PWD (B) Department at Lok Sewa Bhawan to review the status of several key infrastructure projects throughout the state. During this meeting, the Chief Minister assessed the progress of major ongoing projects, which included the development of an indoor stadium and playground at GMCH, the offices of co-district commissioners, the Gauhati High Court building in Guwahati, a FIFA-standard football ground at Nehru Stadium, and the construction of a boundary wall and external road for AEC in Jalukbari, as well as Khanikar Stadium in Dibrugarh.
