Assam CM held a video conference with DCs; ‘Eti Koli Duti Paat’ to launch on August 15

Guwahati: Today, Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma conducted a video conference with all District Commissioners (DCs) at Lok Sewa Bhawan to address critical issues regarding the effective implementation of socio-economic empowerment schemes.

During the discussions with the DCs, the Chief Minister emphasized that with the conclusion of Orunodoi 2.0 on June 10, it is imperative for the DCs to expedite the digitization process to ensure a smooth transition to Orunodoi 3.0. He instructed them to complete the digitization by June 3. Furthermore, he clarified that if any individual is deprived of the benefits of Orunodoi 3.0 due to the lack of a ration card, the DCs should convene a meeting of the district-level monitoring committee and consult with the Guardian Minister to include the names of such beneficiaries.

Additionally, he requested the DCs to prepare data for Orunodoi 3.0 based on Legislative Assembly constituencies. In the same video conference, Chief Minister Dr. Sarma also engaged in an in-depth discussion regarding the ‘Eti Koli, Duti Paat’ scheme. In alignment with the 200-year celebrations of the Assam Tea industry, CM Dr. Sarma announced that the government will provide a one-time payment of Rs. 5000 to each permanent and temporary Class III and IV worker in the tea gardens. Consequently, he urged the DCs to gather data on both permanent and temporary tea garden workers throughout the districts. He also instructed them to establish district-level implementation committees, ensuring the inclusion of one social worker from tea garden areas in these committees.

Moreover, the Chief Minister directed the DCs to identify beneficiaries under the scheme and secure their recommendations from the implementation committee by August 10 of this year. He expressed the government’s intention to launch this scheme on August 15, 2025. To facilitate the successful execution of the scheme, Dr. Sarma requested the DCs to appoint one ADC-level nodal officer.
