GUWAHATI: Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma shared images of the under-construction Twin Tower at Betkuchi, Guwahati, on the social media platform X, stating that the project is being developed as an Integrated Directorate Complex. “Those who are asking about the twin towers, this is what we are constructing in Betkuchi, Guwahati, as an integrated directorate complex,” CM Dr. Sarma captioned the post.

The facility, which had been undertaken by the Public Works (Building & NH) Department (PWD), Assam, is estimated to cost Rs 808.4 crore and is aimed at centralizing various state directorates within a single complex. The project is being funded by the Assam Infrastructure Financing Authority (AIFA) and will function under the General Administration Department (GAD).

The Integrated Directorate Complex is being developed over approximately 12.12 acres of land and will consist of twin towers designed to house multiple directorate offices. Apart from office spaces, the complex will also include an auditorium with a seating capacity of 1,500 people, a facility block, and an open plaza.

Additional infrastructure such as barracks and dormitories for security personnel, as well as dedicated parking spaces, will also be constructed to support the functioning of the complex. The initiative is expected to streamline administrative operations by consolidating government departments in one location, improving efficiency and accessibility for both officials and the public.
