Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma took a holy dip at the Triveni Sangam with his family during the ongoing Maha Kumbh 2025 in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh.

PRAYAGRAJ: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma took a holy dip at the Triveni Sangam with his family during the ongoing Maha Kumbh 2025 in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh.

He wrote on X, “Har Har Mahadev. Today, I am going to participate in the historic Maha Kumbh. By bathing at the Triveni Sangam, I seek the blessings of Mother Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati.”

CM Sarma expressed his reverence for the sacred occasion, emphasizing the spiritual significance of the event. With over 3.09 million devotees taking the holy dip on Wednesday till 8 am, the total number of devotees taking the holy dip has crossed over 555.6 million, as per the UP-Information Department.

Several prominent leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath, several other Union Ministers, and other BJP CMs like Mohan Yadav, Vishnu Deo Sai, and Bhajanlal Sharma, have taken a holy dip at the Triveni Sangam.

The Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj is one of the most significant religious events in Hinduism, attracting millions of devotees from around the world. The festival, held once every 12 years, is considered an auspicious occasion to cleanse one’s sins by taking a dip in the holy waters of the Sangam, the confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and the mythical Saraswati river.
