Holi, or the Festival of Colors, is a colorful festival which celebrates the onset of spring and the triumph of good over evil. It is celebrated mostly in India on the full moon day of the Phalguna month. On the day of Holi, individuals indulge in carefree hurling of colored powders and water, all indicating joy and the mood of unity.
Families and friends gather to exchange sweets, music, and dance, promoting a sense of community and harmony. The festival also has deep cultural and religious significance, with several legends attached to its origins, such as the tale of Prahlad and Holika.
