Assam Government Unveils Significant Changes in Bureaucracy

GUWAHATI: In a notable administrative reorganization, the Assam government has enacted transfers for several officials aimed at improving the efficiency of public service and governance.

Madhu Sudan Nath, who served as Secretary to the Government of Assam in the Higher Education Department, has been reassigned as Secretary to the Government of Assam in the Women & Child Development Department. Partha Pratim Bairagi, previously Joint Secretary to the Government of Assam in the Transport Department, will now take on the role of Joint Secretary to the Government of Assam in the Women & Child Development Department.

Utpal Borah, the Chief Executive Officer of the Zilla Parishad in Lakhimpur, has been transferred to serve as Joint Secretary to the Government of Assam in the Administrative Reforms & Training, Pension & Public Grievances Department. Anup Kumar Brahma, the District Development Commissioner for Dibrugarh, is now appointed as Joint Secretary to the Government of Assam in the Transformation & Development Department. Manash Kumar Saikia, who held the position of Additional District Commissioner in Darrang, has been reassigned as Co-District Commissioner in Naduar, Sonitpur. Raj Boruah, currently serving as Co-District Commissioner in Naduar, Sonitpur, will now take on the role of Co-District Commissioner in Kaliabor, Nagaon. Sauvik Bhuyan, the Additional District Commissioner in Nagaon, has been transferred to serve as Additional District Commissioner in Darrang. Magonjoy Thaosen, who was the Sub-Divisional Officer (S) in Dibrugarh, is now appointed as Assistant Commissioner in Parbatjhora, Kokrajhar.
