Assam is poised to become one of the most advanced states in India, according to Chief Minister Sarma

DIGBOI: “With the unwavering support and affection of the people of Assam towards the BJP government, our state will emerge as one of the most developed in the nation,” stated Assam Chief Minister Dr. Hemanta Biswa Sarma on Monday afternoon in Digboi.

He emphasized that the introduction of Advantage Assam 2.0 will attract significant investments in the near future, resulting in remarkable advancements that will enhance the economy and elevate the state to new heights. Dr. Sarma spoke to a large audience, including members of the public, party workers, and supporters, during a political rally at the Tingrai General Ground in Tinsukia’s Digboi.

Accompanied by Cabinet Minister Prasanta Phukan, Rajya Sabha MP Rameswar Teli, and five BJP legislators from Tinsukia district—covering Digboi, Tinsukia, Doomdooma, Sadiya, and Margherita—along with senior party officials, he praised the achievements of the BJP government in Assam and lauded the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Having just come from a political rally in Dhemaji in preparation for the upcoming Panchayat elections, Chief Minister Sarma passionately promoted the party’s initiatives aimed at improving the lives of citizens through various government programs.

“The state has experienced remarkable and tangible progress in numerous areas, including roads, educational institutions, and infrastructure. A conducive environment for peace and development has been reestablished under BJP governance in Assam. We have embarked on a new journey of cultural, educational, health, and infrastructural advancement during this regime,” the Chief Minister reiterated. “Violence, protests, and unrest have significantly diminished since militant groups have engaged in peace negotiations,” Dr. Sarma added. “The transition from violence and bloodshed to peace has paved the way for substantial progress in the state,” he asserted.

Sarma criticized the Congress government for its reliance on what he termed the politics of “blanket, lungi, wool, and thread.” He asserted that this approach has been supplanted by the BJP’s focus on people-centric and developmental initiatives, which are effecting transformative changes throughout the state. “Refrain from voting for blankets and lungis; instead, support programs like Orunodoi, the Mukhya Montri Nijut Moina Scheme, and CM Atmanirbhar Asom Abhijan to enhance your quality of life,” Dr. Sarma passionately urged. He guaranteed that ample job opportunities would be generated to accommodate the sons and daughters of Assam who have sought employment outside the state. The Chief Minister called upon rural voters to support the BJP and its ally, the AGP, in the forthcoming Panchayat elections for Anchalik Panchayat and Zila Parishad positions. Additionally, the Chief Minister pledged to personally distribute benefits under the Mukhyamantri Mahila Udyamita Abhiyan to beneficiaries in five constituencies in June. He also recognized and welcomed several new members into the party during the rally.
