Assam: Nowgong Girls’ College Hosts Fifth Edition of ‘Ei Mahor Athiti’ Programme

Nowgong Girls’ College hosted the fifth edition of its flagship programme “Ei Mahor Athiti” (Guest of the Month) on Monday.

NAGAON: Nowgong Girls’ College hosted the fifth edition of its flagship programme “Ei Mahor Athiti” (Guest of the Month) on Monday. The guest for the occasion was noted environmental scientist Dr Dulal Chandra Goswami.

The programme began with a warm welcome to Dr Goswami by the college’s principal, Dr Kulen Chandra Das. Dr Das explained the purpose of the programme and welcomed the guest and other dignitaries. Dr. Parthajyoti Das, a member of Aranyak, a pioneer organization of forest and environment, introduced Dr Goswami and highlighted his achievements.

Dr. Goswami delivered a thought-provoking lecture on the Brahmaputra River, Assam’s flood problem, and environmental degradation.

He also shared his experiences as a researcher and emphasized the importance of punctuality and discipline for students. Dr Goswami had an interactive session with the faculty members of the college, including Dr Manas Jyoti Bhuyan and Ashish Saikia. The programme was attended by several dignitaries from Nagaon, including educators, researchers, and students from neighboring colleges. The audience appreciated the initiative of Nowgong Girls’ College in inviting renowned personalities from various fields, including literature, culture, science, sports, and music. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Amiya Pator, Associate Professor, Department of Assamese. The event was a grand success, and the college looks forward to hosting more such programs in the future.
