Assam: The 12th Annual Rongali Bihu Sammelan took place at Parijat Bhawan in Bokakhat

BOKAKHAT: The 12th Annual Rongali Bihu Sammelan, hosted by the Bokakhat district Moina Parijat, took place successfully today at the Parijat Bhawan in Bokakhat. The event commenced in the morning with a flag hoisting ceremony led by Parijat President Kailash Saikia, accompanied by twelve other notable figures from the community.

Following this, a tribute ceremony was conducted by the talented young artist Surendranath Gogoi, while twelve esteemed individuals from Bokakhat participated in the ceremonial lighting of the lamp. The newly constructed stage was officially inaugurated through a ribbon-cutting ceremony performed by the respected social worker Rajendra Prasad Nimodiya. The audience was thoroughly engaged by cultural performances presented by children, which showcased the vibrant folk traditions of Assam.

Members of Moina Parijat paid homage to their elders on stage by offering bihuwan, thuria, and tamol, traditional Assamese symbols of respect. The event, skillfully anchored by Ananta Hazarika and Dalimi Sandkoi, also featured a variety of competitions, including Huchori (group Bihu song), Bihunam, and Bihu dance, which saw enthusiastic participation from the children of Moina.
