The Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force conducted a comprehensive multi-domain exercise in a joint effort within the challenging high-altitude landscape of the Himalayas, situated along the northern borders.
TEZPUR: The Eastern Command of the Indian Army, along with the Indian Navy and the Indian Air Force, conducted a Tri-Service integrated multi-domain exercise in the challenging high-altitude terrain of the Himalayas near the Northern Borders.
This three-day exercise, which took place from March 25 to March 27, began with the deployment of advanced surveillance assets from all three branches, including long-range reconnaissance aircraft from the IAF, maritime domain awareness aircraft from the Indian Navy, helicopters, and Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), complemented by space resources and the Indian Army’s Elite Special Forces to establish comprehensive situational awareness and identify simulated targets. Once these targets were located, they were rapidly neutralized through the coordinated joint firepower of fighter jets, long-range rocket systems, medium artillery, armed helicopters, swarm drones, loitering munitions, and kamikaze drones, all within an electronically contested environment. Lieutenant General Ram Chander Tiwari, PVSM, UYSM, AVSM, SM, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Eastern Command, Air Marshal Surat Singh, AVSM, VM, VSM, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Eastern Air Command, and Commodore Ajay Yadav, Naval Officer-in-Charge of West Bengal, observed the exercise and commended the participants for their exemplary professionalism.
This exercise builds upon Exercise Poorvi Prahar, which took place in November 2024 and emphasized the integrated use of aviation assets. Ex Prachand Prahaar confirmed the effectiveness of integrated planning, command, and control, as well as the seamless execution of surveillance and firepower capabilities across the three services, addressing the full spectrum of conflict. It also highlighted the Armed Forces’ steadfast dedication to joint operations, precision, and technological advancement.
The exercise reinforced the capability to conduct multi-domain operations with exceptional synergy, ensuring India’s readiness to deter and effectively respond to any emerging threats along its strategic borders.
