Assam: The residents of Maibang have once again expressed their request for a foot overbridge.

Haflong: Residents of Maibang, the historic capital of the Dimasa kingdom and the current headquarters of the Maibang Sub-Division, have reiterated their demand for a foot-over bridge at the Maibang Railway Station, highlighting concerns regarding public safety. Various student organizations and engaged citizens have been advocating for this vital infrastructure.

The urgency for a foot-over bridge is evident, as numerous lives have been lost in recent years due to accidents while navigating the railway tracks. The lack of a secure crossing point presents a considerable danger to residents, including students residing on both sides of the railway station. The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) emphasizes that safety, security, and punctuality are its primary objectives, and the construction of a foot-over bridge at Maibang would be a significant advancement toward ensuring the safety of all individuals.
