GUWAHATI: Hima Das, a prominent athlete from Assam, was admitted to a private hospital in the Khanapara area of Guwahati on Friday due to health concerns, specifically experiencing cough and fever. Known as the ‘Dhing Express,’ her condition has prompted relief among the local sports community, especially after hospital director Parag Dutta confirmed that her status is stable and not a cause for alarm.
Nevertheless, for precautionary measures, she will remain under observation in the high dependency unit (HDU), where she is being monitored by Dr. Bhavani Prasad Chakrabarty and a team of specialists. Dutta noted that Das had arrived in Guwahati from Mumbai on Friday afternoon and began feeling unwell shortly thereafter, prompting her to seek medical assistance promptly, arriving at the hospital around 5 pm.
Upon her admission, the medical team provided immediate care, and after stabilizing her condition, it was determined that she would require closer monitoring in the HDU.
