Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma evaluates the execution of five initiatives in Kokrajhar

KOKRAJHAR: On Monday, Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma presided over a review meeting at the DC Office in Kokrajhar, engaging with the District Commissioner and other key officials of BTR to evaluate the progress of welfare schemes in the constituencies of Kokrajhar, Baukhungri, Dotma, Gossaigaon, and Parbatjhora.

During the meeting, the Chief Minister reviewed the preparations established in the district for the effective implementation of Orunodoi 3.0, Mukhyamantrir Mahila Udyamita Abhijan, CMAAA, and Eti Koli Duti Paat. It is noteworthy that in Kokrajhar district, 60 thousand beneficiaries were included under Orunodoi. However, this figure is set to rise to 1.40 lakh under Orunodoi 3.0. Dr. Sarma instructed the district officials to ensure that the selection process is completed promptly.

While assessing the implementation of CMAAA, Chief Minister Dr. Sarma examined the number of applications received under the scheme, including the Monitoring Committee’s selection of applicants. He also reviewed the bank linkage status of the applicants who applied under CMAAA. In reviewing Mukhyamantrir Mahila Udyamita Abhijan, the Chief Minister noted that the scheme will benefit 1.5 lakh women in the district. He also evaluated Eti Koli Duti Paat, indicating that approximately seven thousand employees will benefit from this scheme. Furthermore, the Chief Minister reviewed the distribution of ration cards in the district, stating that 60 thousand new beneficiaries across the five constituencies will receive these cards. He urged the relevant officials to finalize the administrative processes by 15 August 2025.

Present at the meeting were Health and Family Welfare Minister Ashok Singhal, Handloom and Textile Minister UG Brahma, MP Jayanta Basumatary, Ems, MCLAs, Principal Secretary BTC Akashdeep, and other senior officials, as reported in a press release.
