Comedian Samay Raina conveys his remorse regarding the ‘India’s Got Latent’ incident

Comedian Samay Raina has released a statement as the attention surrounding his reality show, ‘India’s Got Latent,’ begins to wane. He expressed his remorse regarding the events that unfolded during the show. In his official communication to the relevant authorities, he stated, “I will take precautions to ensure that such incidents do not occur again.

My mental well-being has been affected by this entire situation. My tour in Canada also did not go as planned. I apologize for my comments; I recognize that they were inappropriate.” Previously, Samay postponed his return to India and adjusted his tour schedule. Recently, he updated his followers on Instagram Stories, announcing the rescheduling of his India tour and assuring ticket holders that refunds would be processed shortly. He wrote, “Hello everyone, I’m rescheduling my India tour. Refunds will be issued soon, and I look forward to seeing you all.”

This announcement follows the controversy surrounding ‘India’s Got Latent,’ which captured national attention last month amid social unrest following the release of ‘Chhaava.’ The uproar was triggered by remarks made by Ranveer Allahbadia regarding parents and sexual topics on Samay Raina’s show, which went viral on social media, leading to significant backlash. In a recorded segment, Ranveer, a podcaster, posed the provocative question, “Would you rather watch your parents having sex or join them once and end it forever?” In response to the public outcry, several police complaints were lodged against Allahbadia and others involved with the show in both Mumbai and Guwahati.

The cyber cell and Mumbai police are currently conducting independent investigations related to Allahbadia’s comments on Raina’s YouTube program, ‘India’s Got Latent.’
