BOKAKHAT: In celebration of the silver jubilee of the Numaligarh Refinery Branch Xahitya Xabha, the play ‘Itihasat Chakari Pheti’ (Breaking Chains in History), authored by the former President of Axam Xahitya Xabha and distinguished playwright Dr. Kuladhar Saikia, and directed by the renowned filmmaker Upakul Bordoloi, was performed on July 26 at the Sarbajanin Kendra premises of Kunzakanan, Numaligarh Refinery. The drama, which draws upon significant events from Assam’s history, was inaugurated by Girish Kumar Bora, the Technical Director of the refinery, who lit the ceremonial lamp. Prior to the commencement of the play, the Numaligarh Refinery Branch Xahitya Xabha honored Dr. Kuladhar Saikia (former Director General of Assam Police), director Upakul Bordoloi, esteemed writer Leena Sharma, and IAS officer Aranyak Saikia with warm felicitations.
The evening’s events were facilitated by branch Secretary Pranabjyoti Saikia and overseen by Dr. Kajal Saikia, who conveyed appreciation to all present.
The cast of the play, which included Nava Kumar Barua, Pawan Mahanta, Montu Saikia, Basanta Saikia, Sudipta Bharali, Montu Gogoi, Pallav Barua, Amrit Pran, Moni Bordoloi, and Pallabi Phukan, received accolades from the branch Xahitya Xabha for their outstanding performances.
