How to escape from Pakistan – an Assamese woman

The news of a woman being held in a Pakistani jail with a child from Barbazar in Nagaon city has caused a sensation across the state. Wahida Begum, who lives in Barbazar, Nagaon city, has been missing since November 1 along with her 10-year-old son.

Waheeda Begum’s husband, Mohsin Khan, died four years ago. It was then that Wahida’s love affair with Kabulwala’s Salim Khan began. For the past year and a half, Wahida has live-in with Salim Khan, but their marriage is not officially celebrated.

However, on November 1, 2022, Wahida, along with her so called husband Salim and 10-year-old son, sold their land and possessions to Barbazar merchants. Later, Wahida’s mother, Ajifa Khatun, filed a complaint to the Nagaon Sadar Police Station about her disappearance, but no clues were forthcoming. They were reportedly held in a Pakistani prison together. Salim Khan is currently in a Pakistani prison with Wahida and her children. Wahida’s mother, Ajifa Khatoon, has also asked the Indian government to arrange the return of her daughters, including her 10-year-old son, to India.
