Tezpur: The Deputy Controller of Civil Defence in Sonitpur has announced the recruitment of 1,000 volunteers for Civil Defence within the Sonitpur district administration. This initiative is in accordance with the directive from the Director General of Civil Defence and Commandant General of Home Guards, Assam, as outlined in letter No. CD151/2021-22/175 dated 09/05/2025. Selected volunteers will participate in a seven-day specialized basic training program organized by the Civil Defence authority in Tezpur.
The training is designed to provide participants with vital skills and readiness for emergency response and disaster management. The Deputy Controller’s office has called for applications from eligible and interested residents of the district to join as Civil Defence Volunteers and serve the nation. Applicants must be at least 18 years old, permanent residents of Sonitpur district, have completed Class 10, and be medically fit and mentally sound.
