For the first time in India, a full-length feature film is being produced featuring a real lion. The film, titled ‘Singha’, is being developed on a grand scale by V. Mathiyalagan under the banner of Etcetera Entertainment, in partnership with Thithir Film House Pvt Ltd. Directed by K C Ravi Devan, the movie stars Shrrita Rao in the leading role.
For those who may not know, director K C Ravithevan, an alumnus of a film institute, previously served as an assistant director to the renowned ‘Ulaganayagan’ Kamal Haasan. Shrrita Rao, known for her performances in films such as ‘Lenin Pandian’ and ‘Kumki 2’ directed by Prabhu Solomon, takes on the lead role in this production. Designed as a pan-India film, ‘Singha’ will be available in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi, marking the 14th film produced by V. Mathiyalagan. The esteemed producer is recognized for financing films like ‘Appa’, ‘Kolaiyuthir Kaalam’, ‘Maha’, ‘Marainthirunthu Paarkum Marmam Enna’, and ‘Saamaniyan’.
In discussing the film, director K C Ravithevan remarked: “We are undertaking this challenging project while meticulously adhering to all necessary protocols and guidelines. When we reached out to several prominent actresses for the role, they expressed interest in the story but were reluctant to perform alongside a real lion. However, Shrrita Rao courageously accepted the challenge and has been delivering an outstanding performance.
