International Happiness Day Observed at Gargaon College

SIVASAGAR: Gargaon College marked International Happiness Day with great enthusiasm on Thursday, aiming to foster positivity and well-being among its students. The event was organized by the Department of Education in partnership with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Gargaon College.

During the inauguration, Dr. Sabyasachi Mahanta, a distinguished academician and Principal of Gargaon College, highlighted the significance of happiness in life and offered valuable advice on nurturing it. He stressed the importance of concentrating on life’s positive elements and cultivating a sense of gratitude. The Vice-Principal of Gargaon College, Diganta Konwar, was a special guest at the event. Dr. Poli Konwar, Assistant Professor in the Department of Education, served as the moderator, while Dr. Ratna Das, Head and Associate Professor of the Department of Education, delivered the welcome address.

To infuse an element of enjoyment into the celebration, two engaging games were arranged for the students. A ‘Tug of War’ competition was conducted for the boys, while the girls took part in a ‘Musical Chair’ contest. Dr. Dilip Kumar Deka, Head of the Department of Geography, and Dr. Pimily Langthasa, Head of the Department of Zoology, were invited to judge the respective competitions. Prizes were awarded to the winning teams at the end of the event.
