Karan Johar expresses his heartfelt sentiments for his mother in a touching tribute on her 82nd birthday

On Tuesday, as her mother Hiroo Johar celebrated her 82nd birthday, filmmaker Karan Johar expressed his affection through a touching note infused with humor, referring to her as his “world and galaxy.” Karan shared two photographs on Instagram.

The first image is a vibrant colored photo from his childhood, depicting a joyful moment where he is embracing his mother, dressed in a blue jacket and beaming with a smile, while Hiroo, in a light green outfit, holds him with warmth. The second image is a nostalgic black-and-white snapshot from Karan’s early years, showcasing Hiroo’s loving gaze towards him as he playfully bites his finger while wearing a small party hat.

In a humorous twist, Karan highlighted how his mother keeps him grounded, centered, and occasionally scolds him. In his caption, he expressed, “Today marks my mom’s 82nd birthday… I am filled with gratitude to the universe for the privilege of being her child. She grounds me daily (“they gave you an award??? Why??”), she centers me (“be grateful… it could all disappear one day”).” He continued, “She reprimands me in chapter 1 (“what are you wearing, Karan???”) and chapter 2 (“you are always on your phone!!!”). Yet, she remains my world, my galaxy, and my grand love story with life. Love you, Mama.” On March 12, Karan humorously addressed the ongoing discussion about being an “insider and outsider,” expressing his contentment with his own thoughts.

“Living on a plane… What a privilege it is to be an outsider from the plane and an insider in the comfort of my hotel room. I am delighted to have the freedom to my own thoughts and to be disconnected from WHYFI,” he wrote. Additionally, on March 10, Karan announced his entry into Punjabi cinema with Gippy Grewal’s highly anticipated drama, “Akaal,” which will be the first Punjabi film released in Hindi in theaters worldwide. Gippy Grewal not only stars in “Akaal” but also directs and writes the film, which features actors such as Nimrat Khaira, Apinderdeep Singh, Mita Vashisht, and Prince Kanwaljit Singh.
