Kartik Aaryan takes on the role of an Ichadaari Naag in the fantasy thriller ‘Naagzilla’

Actor Kartik Aaryan is poised to embark on a mythical journey as he embodies an ichchhadhari naag in the forthcoming fantasy film ‘Naagzilla,’ produced by Dharma Productions.

Fusing Indian mythology with contemporary narrative techniques, the film showcases an unprecedented portrayal of the actor as he immerses himself in a realm of shape-shifting serpents and mystical elements. On Tuesday, Kartik announced the film on his Instagram account, unveiling the first-look poster for the forthcoming thriller. In his caption, he stated, ‘I have witnessed numerous human tales; now prepare for a narrative about naags. #Naagzilla – The First Chapter of Naag Lok… I am coming to spread joy, Preyamvadeshwar Pyare Chand… Releasing in your nearby SsSsinemas on Naag Panchami, August 4, 2026.’ In the accompanying video, Kartik is heard declaring, ‘A shape-shifting naag, much like myself, endowed with the ability to transform. Preyamvadeshwar Pyare Chand, aged 631 years. I have encountered many human stories; now behold a tale of naags.’ ‘Naagzilla’ will feature Kartik Aaryan in a distinctive and surprising role as Preyamvadeshwar Pyare Chand — a shape-shifting (ichchhadhari) naag embarking on a fantastical journey. This unique fantasy comedy is helmed by Mrighdeep Singh Lamba and penned by Gautam Mehra.

The film is a collaborative production by Dharma Productions and Mahaveer Jain Films, marking Kartik Aaryan’s second partnership with Dharma Productions, following their eagerly awaited Valentine’s Day release, Tu Meri Main Tera, Main Tera Tu Meri. It also heralds an exciting collaboration between Dharma Productions and Mahaveer Jain Films, uniting two creative forces to present innovative, genre-defying stories on the big screen. Produced by Karan Johar, Mahaveer Jain, Adar Poonawalla, Apoorva Mehta, Mrighdeep Singh Lamba, and Sujit Jain, the film is set to premiere in theaters on Nag Panchami, August 2026. Reportedly, ‘Naagzilla’ will provide a humorous twist on the traditional human versus snake conflict, with Kartik portraying dual roles in the film.
