Mukesh Khanna has finally addressed the controversy surrounding ‘Shaktimaan’ and its connection to Ranveer Singh

Veteran actor Mukesh Khanna has finally addressed the widely discussed controversy surrounding ‘Shaktimaan’ and Ranveer Singh. Khanna elaborated on his views regarding Ranveer’s potential involvement in the legendary superhero character, sharing insights about their interaction, the prevailing misunderstandings, and his reasons for not confirming Singh as the next Shaktimaan. In a recent episode of Shardul Pandit’s podcast, Mukesh disclosed that Ranveer Singh expressed a strong desire to take on the role. When questioned about the status of Shaktimaan, the actor refrained from providing a clear answer, instead offering a thoughtful and nuanced response. “For the past four years, this question has been posed to me repeatedly. Two of those years were consumed by the COVID pandemic, and the other two were mired in controversy.”

He further stated, “Ranveer Singh was extremely enthusiastic—almost desperate—to portray Shaktimaan. I have spoken highly of him. However, I must clarify: I never claimed he is Shaktimaan. I admired his performance and energy—he spent three hours with me and showed great passion for the role. Yet, I envision Shaktimaan as Shaktimaan. I have been associated with that character for 30 years. Therefore, I cannot say today whether Shaktimaan is in the works or if it should even be made.” In November of last year, it was reported that Mukesh Khanna mentioned that Ranveer had once waited three hours to meet him, hoping to gain his approval to play the iconic role of Shaktimaan. During a media interaction, the seasoned actor also addressed rumors regarding Singh waiting for hours at his office while discussing the Shaktimaan role.
