Official transfer of the initial phase of the campus of Rabindranath Tagore University located in Hojai

HOJAI: Rabindranath Tagore University, situated in Hojai, has embarked on a notable phase in its infrastructural development journey. On Wednesday, the university officials officially received the newly completed first phase of the campus located at Sagarbasti, near Hojai town, from the Building Division of the Public Works Department (PWD) of Hojai district, as stated in a press release issued by Rabindranath Tagore University.

According to the release, a brief ceremony was held to mark this occasion, attended by representatives from both the PWD and the university. The release further mentioned that the construction project was sanctioned under Administrative Approval No. AA/PWB_2022-23(I)_1573, dated 15-11-2022. The approved project cost amounted to Rs 5891.64295 lakh, while the tendered amount was Rs 5640.38804 lakh. The work order number was CE/TB-VI/46/2022/27, dated 30-12-2022, with construction commencing on the same day and completed within the designated timeframe. As per the release, the project was carried out under the oversight of the contractor firm Messrs MP Khaitan.

The project encompasses a double-storied academic building (8366 square meters), an administrative building (2848 square meters), internal and external electrification, a sub-station, EPABX and LAN connectivity, a water supply system, sanitary systems, fire safety measures, road construction, site development, as well as boundary wall, gate, landscaping, furniture installation, and finishing works. During the handover ceremony, the Assistant Engineer, Assistant Executive Engineer, and Executive Engineer of the Hojai and Binakandi Territorial Building sub-division were in attendance. On behalf of the university, Dr. Shekhar Kanti Sarkar, Acting Registrar of Rabindranath Tagore University, received the campus. The university’s engineering division, registrar’s branch, and other relevant departments conducted inspections and verified the infrastructural work prior to the formal approval of the handover.
