Rhea Chakraborty pays a visit to Siddhivinayak Temple following her exoneration in the Sushant Singh case

Actress Rhea Chakraborty visited the renowned Siddhivinayak Temple in Mumbai on Monday, following the Central Bureau of Investigation’s (CBI) announcement that she was not implicated in the Sushant Singh Rajput case. Having faced significant public scrutiny, Rhea attended the temple alongside her brother Showik and her father to offer prayers.

A video that emerged online shows her in a modest suit, interacting with the paparazzi before entering the temple. She appeared serene and collected as she approached the shrine, even taking a moment to pose with her family for photographers. This visit occurred just a day after the CBI submitted a closure report regarding the Sushant Singh Rajput death investigation, exonerating Rhea.

In a criminal application presented to the court on Friday, the CBI sought to close the case, absolving all individuals named in two FIRs, including Rhea, her parents, her brother, Sushant’s sister Priyanka, and a doctor mentioned in a counter-FIR filed by the actor. The agency concluded that there was no evidence connecting any of these individuals to the alleged abetment of suicide.

Regarding the case’s closure, Rhea’s attorney, Satish Maneshinde, stated, “The CBI has submitted a closure report concerning the death of Sushant Singh Rajput after nearly four years. We appreciate the CBI for conducting a comprehensive investigation into all facets of the case and ultimately closing it.

The proliferation of false narratives in social and electronic media was entirely unwarranted. During the pandemic, many were fixated on television and social media due to the lack of events occurring in the country. Innocent individuals were subjected to relentless scrutiny and displayed before the media and investigative bodies.

I hope such a situation does not occur again in any future cases.” He continued, “I urge media leaders to consider the consequences of their actions. Rhea Chakraborty endured immense suffering and was imprisoned for 27 days without any wrongdoing until Justice Sarang V. Kotwal granted her bail. I commend her and her family for their resilience in the face of inhumane treatment.

They approached me through a mutual friend and a defense personnel, who are close acquaintances from my time at Sainik School. Both Rhea’s family and my team faced harassment and threats to our safety. However, I must emphasize that nothing dissuaded us from fulfilling our legal responsibilities.” Rhea Chakraborty and her brother Showik were arrested in 2020 in connection with a drug-related case that arose following the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput.
