Rohit Sharma adds another record under his belt! He’s now entered the elite 10,000-run club. He’s only the 6th Indian in the 10k run club. Sachin Tendulkar is at the top of this list. Virat Kohli, Sourav Ganguly, Rahul Dravid, MS Dhoni are among 6 Indians in this list.
Rohit brought up the landmark in grand style as he lofted pacer Kasun Rajitha back over his head for a straight six, to go past 10,000 runs in his 241st innings — the second fastest after team-mate Virat Kohli, who got there in 205 innings.
Rohit is now the 15th player overall to score over 10,000 runs in the 50-over format. As the only player in history to have hit three doubles centuries in 50-over cricket, Rohit also holds the record of most runs in an innings – or the highest individual score of 264 against Sri Lanka at Eden Gardens in November 2014.
