As a special Eid gift to the people of Kashmir, the highly anticipated film “Sikandar,” featuring superstar Salman Khan, is set to premiere in the regions of Shopian, Pulwama, Handwara, and Baramulla.
Citara, a venture led by renowned filmmaker Tutu Sharma and Rahul Nehra, with the support of celebrated actress Padmini Kolhapure, Padma Bhushan recipient Shobana, and Uttam Kumar, aims to connect local audiences with this cinematic experience through a First Day First Show.
This initiative, inspired by the Lieutenant Governor of Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, is successfully revitalizing the cinema landscape in both North and South Kashmir, with simultaneous screenings planned for Sopore, Badgam, and Kupwara. Following this release, additional First Day First Show events and classic film screenings will be organized to enhance the cinematic experience in the region.
Tutu Sharma, the founder of Citara, expressed his excitement about bringing “Sikandar” to Kashmir, recalling his cherished memories of filming in the area and emphasizing the film industry’s commitment to the region. Award-winning director Rumi Jafry commended Citara for their determination in overcoming challenges to facilitate this event, while Rahul Nehra, the Founder and Managing Director, announced plans for further expansion into Pahalgam, Anantnag, Ganderbal, and other towns, with the support of local authorities.
