The initial poster for Border 2 was revealed on Friday in celebration of India’s 79th Independence Day. The creators selected this significant day to pay a heartfelt tribute to the courageous individuals of India. The first poster showcases Sunny Deol in a dynamic role. Additionally, the poster announces the new release date. Border 2 is now set to premiere in theaters on January 22, 2026, just days before India’s Republic Day. The poster reintroduces Sunny Deol in his most legendary, battle-ready persona, capturing the very spirit that made Border a historic landmark.
Clad in military attire and wielding a bazooka with fierce determination, Sunny stands as a symbol of patriotism and deep emotion. With that unmistakable intensity in his gaze and the burden of duty upon him, Sunny Deol returns to the battlefield, prepared to embody the essence of an Indian soldier once again. Directed by Anurag Singh, Border 2 features a formidable cast led by Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, Ahan Shetty, Medha Rana, Mona Singh, and Sonam Bajwa, with production by Bhushan Kumar and JP Dutta.
JP Dutta directed the original film Border back in 1997, which was inspired by the Indo-Pak 1971 war. The release of the first poster of Border 2 on Independence Day links the film’s patriotic theme with the nation’s spirit, evoking memories of the original while promising a cinematic experience for a new audience. Director Anurag Singh remarked, “Announcing the release date on Independence Day is symbolic.
This day serves as a reminder of the sacrifices made by our soldiers for India’s freedom, and our film reflects that. It is both an honor and a privilege to pay tribute to their enduring spirit through this narrative.” Supported by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, JP Dutta, and Nidhi Dutta, and directed by Anurag Singh, Border 2 is presented by Gulshan Kumar & T-Series, in collaboration with JP Dutta’s J.P. Films. The film continues the tradition of celebrating the bravery and unyielding spirit of Indian soldiers, taking viewers on an extraordinary journey of patriotism and courage.
