The music video for ‘Abir Gulaal’ has been removed from YouTube following the terrorist attack in Pahalgam

In light of the boycott calls following the Pahalgam terror attack on April 22, YouTube India has removed songs from Fawad Khan and Vaani Kapoor’s film Abir Gulaal, along with two tracks from the film titled Khudaya Ishq and Angreji Rangrasiya. The film had already been prohibited from release in India. This decision comes after significant backlash on social media, where users expressed their disapproval of collaborations between Indian and Pakistani artists in the aftermath of the attack. The April 22 incident, one of the most lethal in Kashmir in recent years, resulted in the deaths of 26 individuals when terrorists opened fire on tourists in Pahalgam.

The two songs that were taken down, a romantic ballad named Khudaya Ishq and an upbeat dance track Angreji Rangrasiya, are no longer accessible on the official YouTube channel of the production company, A Richer Lens Entertainment. Earlier this week, the filmmakers revealed plans to release a new song, “Tain Tain,” on Wednesday, although it has not yet been made available. The film, directed by Aarti S. Bagdi, was originally scheduled for release on May 9, 2025. The cinematography for Abir Gulaal was executed by Tribhuvan Babu Sadineni, with music composed by Amit Trivedi. The supporting cast features Riddhi Dogra, Lisa Haydon, Farida Jalal, Soni Razdan, Parmeet Sethi, Rahul Vohra, Sujoy De, and Amrit Sandhu.
