The trailer for Kajol’s mythological horror film ‘Maa’ has been revealed

Bollywood actress Kajol has consistently embraced the challenge of taking on diverse roles and exploring various genres.

From comedic performances to romantic leads, she has showcased her versatility. Now, she is preparing to venture into the realm of horror drama. Scheduled for release in theaters on June 27, her film ‘Maa’ promises to be an intriguing addition. The producers have characterized the film as a “mythological horror,” narrating the tale of a mother who transforms into Kali to safeguard her daughter from malevolent forces. The trailer for the film was revealed earlier on Thursday, offering a sneak peek at the characters portrayed by Kajol, Ronit Roy, Indraneil Sengupta, and Kherin Sharma.

The trailer opens with Kajol driving a car, her daughter seated in the back. However, their tranquil journey takes a terrifying twist when a shadowy figure crashes against the glass window, leading them to a village plagued by the mysterious disappearance of girls over the past four months. The trailer concludes with Kajol delivering a compelling line: “Jab tak teri maa tere sath hai, tera koi kuch nahi bigaad sakta. (As long as you have your mother with you, no one can ever harm you).”

Film enthusiasts were captivated after viewing the trailer and took to social media to share their anticipation for the film’s debut. “Omg this trailer looks so powerful! I can’t wait,” one user commented. “Too good,” remarked another. The trailer was launched in Mumbai, attended by the entire cast and crew of ‘Maa’. Kajol’s husband, actor Ajay Devgn, also attended the event. A notable surprise at the trailer launch was R Madhavan, who portrayed the antagonist in last year’s Shaitaan, arriving unexpectedly. Expressing gratitude to Madhavan for traveling from Chennai to Mumbai for the occasion, Ajay stated, “He (Madhavan) was shooting in Chennai but he flew to the city specifically to attend this event. Thank you so much.”
