Union Minister Annapurna Devi Visits Dibrugarh To Review Welfare Schemes

DIBRUGARH: Annapurna Devi, Union Minister of Women and Child Development, recently visited the Mancotta Anganwadi Centre in Dibrugarh, where she met Anganwadi Workers (AWWs) and children from the local area. The purpose of the visit was to evaluate the ongoing activities under the Ministry’s ongoing programs.

Minister Devi used the opportunity to discuss with the AWWs their work and contributions to the community. She stressed the significance of their efforts in advancing child health and nutrition, which is essential for the growth of young children in the area.

In a subsequent social media post on platform X, the Minister emphasized her deliberations on the rollout of Mission POSHAN 2.0, an overarching scheme to enhance nutritional outcomes for children and women throughout the nation. She also spoke about the SNP activities, which are crucial for delivering necessary nutrition to vulnerable sections.

The visit of the Minister serves to highlight the government’s resolve to improving the efficiency of Anganwadi services and ensuring that programs for nutrition are delivered where needed. Through direct interaction with the workers and beneficiaries, Annpurna Devi intends to consolidate the structure of such programs and ensure that there is a collective strategy to combat malnutrition in Assam.
